For Dr Dave to give his thoughts on other kinds of birds

This morning I heard a loon. It is such a magical sound. Many of us have seen at least 1 loon, we are hoping to have a mated pair so that the loon will stay in this area.
Just now I saw 2 black and white birds but they have red bills-so those are not loons. I am trying to figure out what they are using my bird app.
